Throughout the production, filmmaker Daniel D Moses was following the development of the show and its history. His documentary was shown in the foyer of the Cochrane Theatre as the audience arrived to contextualise the play.Narrated by Prunella Scales, CBE, the documentary provides an insight into the origins of the production, illustrating how the history of London informed the show. Exploring issues of immigration, cultural integration and crime, all of which are prevalent in the play, this film uses first hand accounts from immigrants of various nationalities who arrived in the UK during the 1960s, and from second generation family members, to track the changes in London society since the 1960s.
Amongst those sharing their memories and experiences are notorious gangster "Mad" Frankie Fraser as well as members of the YPTC cast and crew and their families.
